The virtual shelves of my brand new Etsy shop are stocked and ready for business!
My Shop
A few weeks ago i decided enough was enough, i was going to jump in head first and list my jewellery on the online marketplace. So far things haven't been overly successful. I have one sale.... and it was a friend. I'm hoping that things will improve as i gather more feedback. I seem to be spending a lot more than i am making!
I have, however, learned a lot in the last few weeks. Things that i never thought i would be learning; RSS feeds, Google Analytics... lots of technical mumbo jumbo that i usually try to avoid.
I have also learned that Etsy is a lot more about off site promotions, so i am now trying to promote myself wherever i can. In my first couple weeks i was fortunate enough to come across a woman starting a website that features online artists. Since she was just starting up she was looking for people to feature on her site. I managed to get in with her and my shop is now listed on her site, Alla Prima Art Mall. I am very thankful for the additional publicity since i am finding it difficult to get my work seen.
I also started a facebook fan page for Anemone Designs. If you have time, please stop by and "Like" Anemone Designs

Back At It!
After a much needed hiatus, Anemone Designs is back in business! I'm hoping to be able to sit down in the next few weeks and experiment with some new gemstones i have.
I had to take a break last year to plan for my wedding. That is now ancient history but it has left me with great inspiration. I created all of the jewellery for the wedding, as well as the crystal bouquets. I'm hoping that this year i will be able to branch out and incorporate wedding jewellery into the Anemone Designs umbrella.
Among some of the items that i made for the wedding was an "Antique Inspired" brooch bracelet, made from my grandmother's pearls. (This was my something old)
I also made the necklace and earring set that i wore (They were created from pearls and Swarovski Crystals)
The bouquets, boutonnieres and cake topper were very similar. My bouquet was made up of 300 Swarovski crystals fastened to long strands of wire and then fanned out like fireworks. Each of my bridesmaids had the same bouquet, but with 150 crystals. And the boutonniere arrangement varied depending on how the person fit into the wedding party. (Some had pearls added in as well).
There were many other things that i also made for the wedding, including feather pens, seating cards, painted aisle runner and backdrop. I'm hoping to get photos up of all these creations.

I also tried my hand at making my veil. I had originally planned on attaching it to a comb but i was having problems with it staying in my hair. So when it was all said and done i actually made the veil with bridal loops, and that was probably one of the smartest things i could have done. It made it so much easier to put on, take off, and stay put! I also stitched dozens of small Swarovski beads to the veil to add some sparkle.
